Key Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing comprehensive healthcare services to children from birth through young adulthood, including well-child visits and management of common acute illnesses and chronic conditions.
• Conducting thorough assessments and analyzing patient health to meet their unique physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Performing clinical procedures such as administering immunizations, injections, sutures, and wound care, while managing potential infections and complications.
• Developing patient management plans tailored to individual needs, documenting patient progress notes, and ensuring continuity of care through follow-up communications.
• Collaborating with physicians for medical chart reviews and quality assurance initiatives to enhance care delivery.
• Educating families on topics such as adherence to treatment regimens, normal developmental milestones, and health maintenance strategies.
• Maintaining accurate medical records, facilitating appropriate referrals, and regularly consulting with the supervising physician on patient care provisions.
• Meeting health center productivity standards set by senior management, while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses on delivering patient-centered care to a diverse pediatric population. You will connect with children and their families, addressing health maintenance through regular screenings, vaccinations, and anticipatory guidance. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting families with complex health issues, ensuring they receive comprehensive care and education to promote overall wellness.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• An advanced degree in nursing, such as a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Possession of current RN and Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of Texas.
• 2 to 4 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in a clinical environment.
• Certification from a recognized board, such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (if applying for inpatient privileges).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Experience

Additionally, candidates with a background in pediatric healthcare, particularly in acute care settings or community health, will be favored. Experience in quality improvement initiatives and familiarity with electronic health records will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
