Human Resources Assistant Manager

$34.62 - $37.98 per hour

Compensation Hourly: $34.62/hr ~ $37.98/hr, based on experience, education, certifications, and location. Position Overview Reporting to the Area HR Manager, the Human Resources Assistant Manager will provide training and support for HR functions, including training Store Managers, HR Associates, and Coordinators; payroll; timecard enforcement; and maintenance of personnel files. Responsibilities Partner with the Area HR Manager on employee relations issues and staffing objectives. Process HR records, policy and procedure reports, and administrative tasks. Serve as liaison for employee relations questions, leaves of absence, paid time off, workers’ compensation, and other concerns. Assist with interviews, investigations, and disciplinary actions while providing HR support at the store level. Collaborate with store managers, HR, training, and payroll teams. Provide training for Store Managers and HR Coordinators on HR processes, employment laws, recruiting, and related topics. Advise Area Manager and Store Managers on workforce planning. Support recruiting by developing relationships with external sources, hosting on‑site recruiting events, and managing job fairs. Track all aspects of employment, including completing forms, conducting orientations, and notifying the department of new hires. Update and post open positions on internal and external job boards. Partner with Store Manager to manage monthly personnel costs. Assist with special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of two (2) years in human resources or a related field; retail experience preferred. Strong PC skills, including MS Excel and Word. Experience with applicant tracking systems and HR systems (Workday preferred). Excellent customer service and confidentiality skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Knowledge of HR policies, employment law, recruitment practices, and Equal Employment Opportunity regulations. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
