Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home or terminated.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have basic arrhythmia knowledge and be able to recognize fatal rhythms; permanent staff read strips.

Special Requests: Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers who were there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Travel pairs must be submitted together. If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. Block scheduling is allowed if included in the contract; nights are usually blocked.

Unit Details: Remote telemetry monitoring. Heparin or Protonix IV drips only; no titrating drips or cardiac drips. Uses BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, B-Braun, and Omnicell. Common patients include totals, spines, occipital burr holes, seizures, craniotomies, brain stimulators, hip traction on nights, Bucks traction, and Med-Surg overflow.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend for nights is Fri/Sat/Sun. Rotating holidays as needed based on unit needs. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Floats to any Med-Surg unit; would not float to ED or Behavioral Health.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
