Role Overview
The Carving Station Cook is responsible for preparing, portioning, and presenting cooked meats and other designated foods at a live or buffet, peking duck carving and/orcarving station, ensuring precision, hygiene, and an appealing guest experience . This role blends culinary skill, presentation artistry, and guest service, often in fine dining, banquet, catering, or hotel settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Carving : Expertly slice, portion, and present meats (e.g., roast beef, lamb, duck, turkey, ham) and other assigned items to meet culinary specifications and presentation standards

• Guest Service : Perform live carving in front of guests when required, ensuring efficient, hygienic, and visually appealing service

• Station Maintenance : Keep the carving station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools, utensils, and supplies

• Food Safety : Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, including proper food handling, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention

• Collaboration : Work closely with chefs, kitchen staff, and service team to ensure menu alignment, timing, and guest satisfaction

• Inventory & Supply : Monitor meat and equipment stock levels, coordinating with kitchen or procurement as needed

• Training & Support : Assist in training or mentoring junior staff in carving techniques and station operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience : Minimum 1–2 years in kitchen or food preparation; prior carving, butchery, or buffet station experience preferred

• Technical Skills : Proficiency in using carving tools, knives, and kitchen equipment; knowledge of various meat cuts, cooking levels, and presentation styles

• Certifications : ServSafe or equivalent food handler certification; culinary training a plus

• Soft Skills : Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive hand motions
