Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a K-8 setting for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity spans from mid-August 2026 through May 2027, offering a rewarding chance to make a difference in either an elementary or middle school resource classroom.
Bring your expertise in special education to work closely with students, colleagues, and support staff in a collaborative school environment. The role is full-time, with a 35-37.5 hour work week, and provides direct service to children who benefit from resource support.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education required
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-age students
- Strong understanding of resource services within special education
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including support staff
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- District requires fingerprint clearance prior to start
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students
- Provide specialized instruction and resource support
- Conduct assessments and track student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, para professionals, and guardians
- Ensure compliance with all educational and district standards
- Participate in team meetings, IEP conferences, and professional development activities
