Financial Planning and Analysis Expert for AI Training

Provide senior FP&A expertise to develop and evaluate high-quality financial planning scenarios for a research project supporting frontier AI systems. You will translate accounting actuals into operational decisions on spending, headcount, and growth, explain financial tradeoffs to non-finance stakeholders, and convert monthly variances into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Own or lead P&L management, including interpretation of accounting actuals for operational decision making.
• Build, review, and evaluate annual budgets, departmental budget consolidation, and rolling forecasts.
• Perform monthly variance analysis and budget-to-actual reporting, producing clear recommendations for corrective action.
• Conduct committed-expense analysis and implement cost control measures.
• Set forecast assumptions, run scenario stress-testing, and produce Income Statement projections.
• Communicate financial tradeoffs and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders in plain language.
• Contribute high-quality training data for frontier AI systems as part of the project deliverables.

• 6 or more years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or finance business partnering.
• Direct experience owning a P&L, managing an annual budget, maintaining a rolling forecast, and running a monthly variance process.
• Experience in one or more of the following business types: digital media and advertising, entertainment, subscription or membership businesses, live events, multi-location consumer businesses, or another commercially complex business with a substantial FP&A function.
• Practical skills in management reporting, departmental budget consolidation, committed-expense analysis, cost control, forecast assumption setting, and scenario stress-testing.
• Comfort presenting financial analysis and recommended actions to non-finance audiences.

• Engagement type: full-time, hourly engagement from 10 August 2026 to 4 September 2026.
• Work location: remote, working on a UK business-hours rhythm. The project team runs live team sessions each working day and there may be occasional evening messages.
• End-of-project terms: two weeks of garden leave paid at the end of the engagement. A one month non-compete applies concurrently with the garden leave.
• Project continuity: strong performance increases the likelihood of selection for future projects with the client.
• Vetting and selection process: initial resume and work history screen, followed by a short interview focused on FP&A and management reporting expertise.

• Hourly rate: 150 per hour.
• Employment type: hourly engagement.
