Accounts Payable Clerk

Your positive, professional, and consistent personal interactions make AvalonBay a great place to work. The role The Accounts Payable Clerk ensures accuracy and compliance of payments and invoicing. A significant portion of essential job functions below are required to be performed onsite. Job Responsibilities Administrative assignments such as physically scanning, extracting documentation and workflow review. Physically sort and distribute department’s incoming mail. Research returned checks and utility bills for payment or nonpayment. Monitor and respond to inquiries in the department’s email inbox and voicemail. Support staff to ensure timely processing of payments through various software systems. Review payments and backup for accuracy. Research vendor inquiries about payments and invoices. Minimum qualifications Education High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Experience Minimum one year of general office experience. Preferred minimum of one year of accounts payable experience. Knowledge, skills and abilities Ability to work in a high transaction volume environment. Knowledge of accounts payable policies/procedures and best practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of Excel. Good math skills. Good time management and organizational skills. Detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills. Strong customer service focus. Strong sense of teamwork and work ethic.
