About The Department The geriatrics program at The University of Chicago has been recognized for its excellence in patient care, teaching, and research for many years. U.S. News and World Report consistently rates our geriatrics program among the top in Illinois and the nation. Since 2000, the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine has grown to 12 full‑time faculty, about six fellows and over thirty staff, all devoted to improving the care of older adults through research, training, and patient care. Job Summary The Project Coordinator will support diverse activities of the SHARE Network across sectors and settings, reporting to the Administrative Director. Responsibilities include both long‑term and short‑term tasks, team coordination, project management, and operational enhancements. The role requires initiative, flexibility, reliability, strong communication, and exceptional organization skills. Responsibilities Plan, support, and coordinate community events with internal and external partners. Create and organize project handouts, ensuring up‑to‑date materials are printed and stored. Maintain and distribute a Resource Guide to hubs and community partners. Coordinate activities of students, learners, and the Community Advisory Board. Enter and manage quantitative and qualitative data documenting SHARE Network activity. Provide administrative support and database management as assigned. Assist with workforce education interventions in long‑term care, hospital, and clinic settings; create newsletters and plan events. Oversee and enhance website content. Build audiences for email newsletters and social media presence. Represent the SHARE Network at community events as needed. Facilitate small groups. Maintain inventory and reorder supplies. Travel locally; requires own vehicle and insurance. Support a research project with technical and administrative tasks, including recruiting, scheduling, developing protocols, data collection tools, databases, and general administrative support, with awareness of research methods and regulatory policies. Perform other related duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications College or university degree in a related field. Less than 2 years of experience in a related job discipline. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Experience working with older adults. Experience in multidisciplinary team environments. Experience developing marketing materials. Experience building relationships with external partners. Experience with event coordination, project‑based grant work, urban/public health, and community engagement. Preferred Competencies Capacity to create effective collaborations. Establish good interpersonal relationships, valuing others. Present sound recommendations linked to stakeholder needs.
