Compass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced RN Director of Patient Services - Director level Registered Nurse, RN for a Licensed Home Healthcare Agency with Corporate office located in Manhattan, New York. Agency is very interested in a DPS who understands Adult Home Care and Pediatric Private Duty Programs; Clinical Compliance, Program Performance and clinical management of a home care agency and programs. DPS will also know how to provide continuity of care in the Community..

RN Director - DPS - Licensed Home Care Service Agency (LHCSA)

Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating healthcare and professional services of the Licensed Home Care Service Agency. This position oversees the day to day clinical operation of home care in conformance with the Agency’s mission, philosophy and goals. The Director of Patient Services ensures that the services he/she is responsible for is delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner, maximizing customer satisfaction. Ensures that all aspects of home care/programs operate within the standards of all NYSDOH and DOL applicable laws, rules and regulations. Management of Adult and Pediatric Paraprofessional and Private Duty Nursing Divisions.

Responsibilities:

• Direct day to day healthcare and professional operations of home health; compliance with all pertinent, current rules, regulations, standards, policies and guidelines.

• Develops, implements, reviews, and updates all policies and procedures in accord with the needs and rights of participants and caregivers, and in compliance with acceptable standards of practice.

• Overall responsibility for the coordination and integration of home care with Adult and Pediatric Private Duty and Community Programs.

• Utilizes effective problem-solving and decision-making approaches, identifies root cause of problems and issues, formulates potential solutions, solicits appropriate input and evaluates effectiveness of solutions.

• Responsible for implementation of the recruitment, hiring and supervision of all home health/program staff.

• Participates in the development and implementation of an effective Staff Training and Development program for program personnel (aides/RN).

• Demonstrates competency in each of the key areas related to the position, i.e. home health, customer service orientation, coordination of program services, resource management.

• Monitors Patient care activities to ensure competent and compassionate care is being provided.

• Ensures the quality and continuity of care is provided by Agency staff.

• Conducts home visits to supervise staff, conduct competency reviews and evaluate care.

• Ensures the appropriate staff to Patient/staff ratios are in place to facilitate quality care.

• Compliance, Quality Improvement and Subject Matter Expert knowledge & experience with NYS DOH regulations and Policies/Procedures

• Provides collaborative support to all Programs in the absence or conjunction with other administrative team members.

Qualifications:

• NYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse – in good standing.

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing and holds an RN Diploma and BSN. Master’s degree in a complementary field is preferred.

• Subject Matter Expert with knowledge & experience related to NYS DOH regulations and Policies/Procedures

• Two years’ experience in an acute care setting with Adult & Pediatric patients including Vents, Trachs and GTs; Two years as an RN field nurse in a LHCSA and/ Private Duty Skilled Nursing environment.

• Three (3) years’ minimum experience in a LHCSA of increasing leadership roles; to include supervisory, management and administrative positions in a home care organization and MUST demonstrate a strong knowledge of NYS DOH LHCSA Regulations.
