We are partnering with an established flooring organization to identify a Director of Warehouse Operations to provide leadership across a nine-location warehouse network. The preferred location is Baltimore or the Mid-Atlantic region, with approximately 30–40% travel required.

This role will focus on creating consistency, accountability, efficiency, safety, and operational standards across the warehouse network while partnering with local branch and warehouse leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead warehouse operations across nine locations
• Develop and implement consistent warehouse procedures and best practices
• Evaluate operations and identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, organization, and service
• Standardize receiving, inventory storage, picking, staging, loading, returns, transfers, and material handling
• Improve inventory accuracy and reduce damaged, lost, misplaced, and obsolete materials
• Establish warehouse KPIs and performance expectations
• Develop training and accountability programs for warehouse leadership
• Partner with branch and warehouse managers to resolve operational challenges
• Improve coordination between warehouse, purchasing, sales, installation, and branch operations
• Evaluate staffing, equipment, layouts, racking, and workflow
• Promote consistent safety procedures and compliance
• Support warehouse technology, inventory systems, and process improvements
• Visit locations regularly to evaluate operations, coach leadership, and maintain standards
• Support acquisitions, integrations, relocations, expansions, and other operational projects

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or operations experience
• Multi-location warehouse leadership experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to standardize processes across multiple facilities
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse best practices
• Experience managing and developing warehouse managers and supervisors
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flooring, building materials, construction supply, or related industry experience preferred
• Flooring installation logistics or installer scheduling experience is a plus
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40%
