We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Paralegal to join our growing team. Position Summary

As a Paralegal at Radoslovich | Shapiro, PC, you will play a critical role in supporting attorneys in litigation, construction law, appellate matters, and dispute resolution proceedings. You will manage cases from inception through post-judgment enforcement while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and ensuring compliance with all procedural deadlines. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving problems, improving processes, and contributing as a valued member of a collaborative legal team.

Responsibilities

Litigation Support 

• Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, including case intake, discovery, law and motion practice, trial preparation, trial support, and post-trial matters.
• Prepare, review, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, trial documents, appellate filings, and correspondence.
• Coordinate and manage document production, subpoenas, and records collection.
• Conduct legal and factual research to support attorneys and case strategy.
• Prepare, record, and manage mechanic’s liens, notices, releases, bonds, and related construction law documents.

 

Court Filings and Calendaring

• Prepare and electronically file documents in California Superior Courts, U.S. District Courts, Courts of Appeal, and other tribunals.
• Maintain and manage complex litigation calendars, including statutory deadlines, court appearances, discovery schedules, and related case events.
• Utilize calendaring and case management software to ensure complete compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines.
• Monitor deadlines and proactively communicate upcoming requirements to attorneys and staff.

Case Management

• Maintain and organize electronic and physical files with a strong ownership mentality.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, and third parties.
• Manage multiple active matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prioritize competing deadlines and adjust to changing case demands and client needs.

 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in civil litigation, business litigation, construction law, commercial collections, or related practice areas.
• Demonstrated experience obtaining defaults, default judgments, and managing post-judgment collection proceedings.
• Experience preparing, recording, and enforcing mechanic’s liens and supporting related litigation.
• Experience using calendaring and case management software in a litigation environment.
• Experience supporting cases in California Superior Courts, United States District Courts, appellate courts, arbitrations, and mediations.
• Experience coordinating trial preparation and assisting attorneys through trial preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted legal research, document review, drafting, or case management tools appreciated.
• Familiarity with default judgments and post-judgment collections welcome.

Education

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong grasp of California civil procedure through trial, including appellate procedures.
• Working knowledge of federal court procedures and electronic filing systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize competing deadlines and manage a high-volume workload.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, urgent client needs, and evolving case demands while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to independently manage assigned matters from inception through resolution.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Clio or similar case management systems is a plus.
• Experience with electronic discovery platforms is a plus.
