Group Benefits Sales Executive, Advisory Market - Northern California

About the Role Guardian is seeking a Group Benefits Sales Executive who will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our largest brokers and consulting houses to drive ongoing sales and retention of groups primarily in the large market segment. The role will report to the Market Leader within the assigned territory. Key Responsibilities Market, position, and sell Guardian’s Group Benefits products (Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Absence, and Supplemental Health) to large market brokers and consulting houses. Support the broker and client relationship to develop and grow Guardian sales and client retention. Understand local territory dynamics to build, develop, and maintain broker relationships and grow the book of business while representing Guardian’s vision to inspire well‑being. Accountably achieve or exceed personal sales production by creating growth with large regional and national broker consultants and implementing sales strategies. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to examine market trends and stay ahead of consumer demands. Represent Guardian as a market leader, share thought leadership, and maintain strong community relationships. Identify, recommend, and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to increase sales of product offerings. Achieve required industry licensing within 90 days of hire and maintain it through ongoing continuing education. Qualifications Education and Experience BS or BA degree (or equivalent industry experience). Minimum of 10 years of previous group insurance sales experience or a combination of Guardian work experience, education, and/or related extracurricular activities. Experience working with large, complex national accounts and large regional and national broker consultants. Experience and knowledge of industry products and processes, including worksite, LTD, dental products, complex absence products, experience rating, and dental network analysis processes. Exude confidence, positivity, and proactivity. Act with accountability to deliver on commitments with speed and quality. Build relationships and effectively interact internally and externally with people at all levels and with customer orientation. Location and Travel Preferred location: San Francisco / Northern California area; qualified applicants in Washington and Oregon will also be considered. Approximately 50‑60% travel within the assigned territory. Compensation Base Salary: $75,000 (good faith estimate for primary location). Salary determined based on education, experience, knowledge, and abilities. Eligible for annual sales or other incentive compensation.
