Senior Lab Support Technician - Purification

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Senior Lab Support Technician for purification operations in Worcester, Massachusetts. The role involves maintaining laboratory systems, supporting daily operations, managing inventory and shipping/receiving functions, and ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory operations and maintain laboratory systems in compliance with SOPs and GMP standards
• Manage inventory tracking procedures including receipt, check-in, labeling, transport, and distribution of materials
• Coordinate resolution of shipping, receiving, and distribution issues with couriers and vendors
• Train team members on standard operating procedures, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements
• Provide feedback to management on daily operations, identify procedural gaps, and suggest improvements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and relevant technical qualification or certificate
• Minimum 2 years related laboratory or technical experience or equivalent education/training combination
• Knowledge of laboratory policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory documentation requirements
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written/oral communication
• Ability to lift 15-30 lbs regularly; capable of standing, bending, and repetitive hand movements for 4-6 hours daily
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced clinical environment
