Vice President, Solutions Architecture & Program Management

We are a home healthcare organization focused on delivering high quality, coordinated care while using technology to improve operational efficiency, communication, clinical workflows, and patient outcomes. As the company continues to modernize its technology environment, we are making a significant investment in healthcare technology, including the implementation of a new EHR or EMR platform, integration with business systems, and the introduction of AI enabled capabilities. We are seeking a senior technology leader who can take ownership of this transformation from planning and vendor selection through implementation, integration, deployment, and ongoing optimization. Position Summary The VP of Solutions Architecture & Program Management will lead the end to end implementation of a new EHR or EMR platform and serve as the primary technology leader connecting business, clinical, operational, vendor, consultant, and development teams. This role combines technical architecture, healthcare systems implementation, program leadership, vendor management, and systems integration. The successful candidate must have personally led complex healthcare technology implementations, particularly EHR or EMR initiatives. This person should understand the underlying technology well enough to challenge developers, implementation consultants, integration partners, and software vendors rather than functioning solely as an administrative project manager. The role has the potential to grow into the company's senior technology leadership position as the technology organization continues to mature. Primary Mission Lead the successful implementation of a new enterprise EHR or EMR platform while ensuring that the system integrates effectively with the company's broader technology environment, including AI enabled solutions, CRM platforms, data systems, and other operational applications. The VP will manage the overall program while coordinating outside consultants, software vendors, developers, integration resources, and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities EHR and EMR Implementation Leadership Lead the full lifecycle implementation of a new EHR or EMR platform, from discovery and requirements gathering through configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and stabilization. Develop and manage the overall implementation roadmap, project plan, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, risks, issues, and decision points. Coordinate software vendors, implementation partners, consultants, developers, clinical stakeholders, operational leaders, and internal technology resources. Maintain accountability across third party implementation teams and ensure work is delivered according to scope, technical requirements, timelines, and business objectives. Identify implementation risks, technical blockers, resource gaps, and dependencies early and drive them to resolution. Ensure that clinical, operational, and technical requirements are accurately translated into system configuration and implementation requirements. Solutions Architecture and Integration Define the technical architecture supporting the new EHR or EMR environment. Evaluate existing applications, workflows, integrations, data flows, and business processes to determine how the new platform should connect with the broader technology environment. Lead integration planning between the EHR or EMR and CRM, operational, financial, reporting, data, and other backend business systems. Oversee integrations involving APIs, HL7, FHIR, SFTP, middleware, data interfaces, and other healthcare interoperability technologies. Work directly with developers, architects, vendors, and consultants to evaluate technical approaches and challenge assumptions when necessary. Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, supportable, secure, and aligned with long term business requirements. AI Enabled Healthcare Solutions Lead or support the implementation of AI or AI enabled capabilities within the healthcare technology environment. Identify practical opportunities to apply AI to clinical, administrative, operational, workflow, reporting, or automation use cases. Coordinate AI integrations with the EHR or EMR environment and related enterprise systems. Evaluate technical, workflow, data, security, and integration implications of AI enabled solutions. CRM and Business Systems Integration Lead the integration of the EHR or EMR platform with CRM and other backend business applications. Partner with business and technical teams to define workflows, data movement, integration requirements, and ownership across systems. The company's current CRM environment includes Monday.com. Prior Monday.com experience is not required. Ensure that clinical and operational information moves effectively between systems while maintaining data integrity and supporting efficient business processes. Program and Vendor Management Serve as the primary leader for the overall healthcare technology implementation program. Manage relationships with EHR or EMR vendors, consulting firms, implementation partners, integration vendors, and other third party technology providers. Establish clear accountability for deliverables, timelines, technical decisions, issue resolution, and implementation outcomes. Lead project meetings, technical working sessions, discovery sessions, vendor reviews, executive updates, and decision making forums. Provide leadership with clear visibility into program status, risks, costs, dependencies, decisions, and next steps. Coordinate multiple concurrent technical workstreams without losing visibility into dependencies or implementation readiness. Required Qualifications Significant professional experience implementing healthcare technology systems. Direct experience personally leading one or more EHR or EMR implementations. Strong understanding of healthcare technology environments, clinical workflows, healthcare data, and enterprise healthcare applications. Experience managing EHR or EMR vendors, implementation consultants, developers, technical teams, and integration partners. Experience implementing or integrating an AI or AI enabled capability within a healthcare technology environment. Experience integrating an EHR or EMR platform with a CRM, ERP, operational system, or other backend business platform. Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability technologies and standards, including HL7 and FHIR. Experience with APIs, data integrations, interfaces, middleware, or comparable healthcare integration technologies. Ability to understand technical architecture and communicate effectively with software developers, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors. Strong program leadership skills covering scope, schedule, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, vendors, and stakeholder management. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, business, executive, and technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Health, Cerner, Epic, McKesson, or comparable enterprise healthcare platforms. Experience gained within healthcare technology consulting organizations such as Deloitte, Accenture, or similar firms, provided the experience involved personally leading healthcare system implementations. Previous software development or software engineering experience followed by progression into healthcare implementation, architecture, or technical program leadership. Experience with healthcare data integration, ETL, data mapping, validation, reporting, or analytics. Experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect or comparable platforms. Experience with cloud technologies and enterprise application modernization. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. Ideal Candidate Profile The strongest candidate will be a technical program leader who has personally delivered major healthcare technology implementations and can operate comfortably between executive leadership and deeply technical implementation teams. A particularly attractive background would be someone who began their career in software development, engineering, systems integration, or architecture and later moved into healthcare technology implementation and program leadership. This person should be capable of managing vendors and consultants while also understanding the technology well enough to question architecture decisions, integration approaches, timelines, resource estimates, and technical recommendations. Experience with a major EHR or EMR platform is important, but platform brand alone is not sufficient. The successful candidate must have personally led healthcare system implementations and understand what it takes to bring a complex healthcare technology environment from requirements through production deployment. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means delivering a new EHR or EMR platform that works effectively across the company's clinical, operational, and business environment. The successful VP will establish structure and accountability across vendors and implementation teams, integrate the new platform with AI enabled solutions and backend business systems, identify technical risks before they become implementation problems, and provide the organization with a scalable foundation for continued technology growth.
