Overview

Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; adhere to department policy for patient safety
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging and explain procedures to patients to help them feel comfortable
- Prepare patients for scans, insert IVs when necessary, and position patients, utilizing safe patient handling for limited-mobility individuals
- Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC, ensuring imaging components are identified and images are sent to the PACS system upon exam completion
- Maintain a clean, safe scanning facility and operate CT equipment (Philips and Siemens systems knowledge preferred)
- Participate in on-call and holiday coverage as required by unit needs and provide teamwork to support a cohesive environment

Requirements
- New York State license to practice Radiologic Technology; injection therapy certification must be noted on the NYS license at submission and must be obtained prior to starting
- Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology; ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology
- Minimum 2 years CT imaging experience; Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Injection certification preferred and willingness to complete during orientation
- Epic experience highly desired; Philips and Siemens equipment experience preferred; telemetry experience a plus
