Manager, Leadership Development & Talent Programs (Hybrid) The Manager, Leadership Development & Talent Programs, plays a key role in delivering and scaling talent and leadership development across the US organization. This role sits at the intersection of leadership development, talent management processes, and program execution. Reporting to the Associate Director, Talent & Leadership Development, you will join a small team that values learning, growth, collaboration, and creativity. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is highly organized, detail‑oriented, curious, and enjoys turning insights into well‑executed programs and processes that support how we develop our people. In this role, you will partner closely with Learning & Development, HR business partners, and other key stakeholders to design, deliver and evolve development offerings, help build and coordinate clear succession processes, and strengthen manager capability building. Manager & Leadership Development Lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of manager development offerings for first‑time and mid‑level managers, including co‑facilitation of sessions as needed. Identify core manager capability gaps and design solutions to address them. Build and maintain practical, in‑the‑moment development tools and resources such as manager toolkits and newsletters. Track and synthesize program outcomes, feedback, and themes to inform continuous improvement. Oversee career growth tools and performance conversation guides (crafting communications, running workshops, evolving the tools as needed). Support additional development initiatives aligned to leadership priorities and business needs. Talent Management Processes & Systems Help build, coordinate, and maintain user‑friendly tools and systems to support talent development and succession planning. Maintain and update high‑quality, executive‑facing talent materials, including presentations and documentation for leadership discussions. Look for opportunities to improve tools, processes, and ways of working to make talent development efforts more effective and scalable. Support coaching intake and coordination processes as needed. Partner with L&D, HRBPs, and employee groups to support alignment and execution of key development priorities. Required qualifications Approximately 4–6+ years of experience in adult learning, talent development, or a related field. Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to create clear, compelling, and executive‑facing presentations, generally in PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities and deliver high‑quality work under deadlines. Experience working with people data and handling confidential information with discretion. Comfort working in an evolving environment and building structure where processes may not yet be fully defined. The ability to work on your own initiatives as well as part of a team, always ready to roll up your sleeves and dive in. Proactive, resourceful, and solution‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow‑through. Preferred experience and skills Experience supporting leadership development programs. Foundational understanding of coaching. Location & Work Requirements The Penguin Random House national headquarters is located in New York City. This is a flexible hybrid position with an expectation of approximately 1–2 days per week in the office at 1745 Broadway. Additional in‑office attendance may be required based on programming, events, and business needs. Candidates should either live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate prior to their start date. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $73,500 – $80,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
