We are looking for a Real Estate Business Analyst to join a growing organization in Dallas, Texas on a Contract basis. In this role, you will work closely with finance, accounting, and operational leaders to evaluate how work is currently performed, uncover opportunities for improvement, and help define more effective ways of operating. This position is ideal for someone who brings hands-on knowledge of commercial real estate accounting together with strong process analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

This is a 2-month contract position

100% ONSITE in Irving, Texas

Real Estate Business Analyst (contract position):

Responsibilities:

• Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to gather insight into current workflows, challenges, and business needs through interviews and working sessions.

• Create clear documentation of existing processes across property accounting, financial reporting, lease administration, tenant billing, and related real estate finance activities.

• Produce process maps, written procedures, workflow narratives, and other materials that explain how key functions operate today.

• Review business processes to pinpoint inefficiencies, control weaknesses, operational risks, and areas where standardization can improve performance.

• Translate stakeholder input into well-defined business requirements that support process redesign and operational improvements.

• Contribute to the design of future-state procedures for budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, general ledger activities, and internal controls.

• Support the rollout and adoption of recommended improvements by coordinating with project leaders and business stakeholders.

• Monitor project findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions while helping maintain visibility into priorities and progress.

• Prepare summaries, reports, and presentation materials that communicate observations and recommendations to project stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting, finance, business analysis, or process improvement work.
• Demonstrated ability to document workflows, procedures, and business requirements in a clear and organized manner.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations and financial reporting practices within a real estate environment.
• Experience leading stakeholder interviews, facilitating discussions, and gathering information from cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with CAM reconciliations, property management environments, or real estate systems such as Yardi, RealPage, JD Edwards, or Oracle is preferred.
