Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough cultural assessments to understand each patient’s background and develop individualized treatment strategies.

• Implement evidenced-based therapeutic practices tailored to the unique needs of clients, utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, fostering environments that encourage open dialogue and healing.

• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated care approach that addresses physical, emotional, and social aspects of well-being.

• Provide timely crisis intervention to assist patients in moments of acute distress, employing de-escalation techniques and supportive resources.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, the importance of treatment adherence, and community resources available to support their journeys.

• Maintain accurate and secure documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.

• Actively engage in case conferences and team meetings, contributing insights and participating in ongoing training to enhance cultural competency.

• Stay current on emerging research and best practices in mental health therapy, ensuring an informed approach to treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will play an essential role in addressing unique psychological challenges these groups face, ensuring that each patient receives compassionate, clinically effective care that respects their individual histories and identities.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• Strong knowledge of various mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and a demonstrated ability to practice cultural competence in therapy.

• Experience in providing individual and group therapy, prioritizing culturally responsive approaches that foster inclusivity.

• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations effectively.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with telehealth platforms.

• A commitment to ethical practice and maintaining professional boundaries while advocating for patient needs.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n

East Metro Counseling Services offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, our benefits package includes:
