Full Time - Alcohol Compliance and Licensing Manager Compensation: Salary: $87,000 - $105,000 (good faith estimate) Summary Under the direction of the Director of Contracts, Risk Management, and Facilities, the Alcohol Compliance Manager leads and administers the alcohol compliance program across all owned, operated, managed, and leased locations. The position serves as the primary authority on alcohol licensing, regulatory compliance, training, audits, investigations, and policy administration, ensuring compliance with California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) requirements and all applicable federal, state, local, CSU, SDSU, and Aztec Shops regulations and policies. Responsibilities Manage all Aztec Shops alcohol licenses and permits across multiple venues. Serve as the primary liaison with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and coordinate license applications, renewals, transfers, modifications, fee payments, inspections, enforcement actions, and regulatory communications. Monitor changes in alcohol‑related laws, regulations, and licensing requirements and communicate impacts to leadership. Develop, maintain, and update alcohol compliance policies, procedures, and operational guidelines; create cheat sheets and operational guidance. Provide and document alcohol compliance training, including Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) requirements; track training completion and report deficiencies. Conduct alcohol compliance observations, audits, inspections, and operational reviews; perform inventory audits and reconciliation reviews; support secret shopper activities. Observe, document, and investigate alcohol‑related incidents, complaints, and violations; prepare findings and management reports. Maintain familiarity with leased operations agreements; conduct compliance reviews; verify licensed status; notify leadership of suspensions, revocations, or enforcement actions. Review contracts and agreements for compliance considerations; coordinate special event approvals; monitor third‑party contractors for training and compliance. Evaluate, recommend, implement, and administer alcohol compliance technologies; serve as point of contact with vendors; coordinate installation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation; develop training on systems. Ensure responsible service of alcohol at all locations and events; provide support and guidance to operational teams. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, CSU, SDSU, and Aztec Shops requirements. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, or related field and/or at least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in alcohol compliance, licensing administration, hospitality operations, regulatory compliance, risk management, auditing and investigations. Experience with California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licensing and regulations is preferred. Knowledge of Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) requirements and best practices; experience conducting compliance reviews, inspections, audits, investigations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, documentation, training, and presentation skills. Must be dependable, detail‑oriented, capable of working independently, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Valid driver’s license and compliance with the stated moving‑violation limits. Must be at least 18 years old. Additional Requirements Language: proficiency in English. Mathematical and reasoning: apply common‑sense understanding, prioritize work, analyze data, and interpret instructions. Manual dexterity: ability to use computer and office equipment. Physical demands: moderate activity, lift up to 10 lbs, stand, walk, use vision, operate computer equipment.
