Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct preliminary interviews and assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to create tailored treatment strategies.

• Document patient cases meticulously from initial assessments through the course of treatment, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their mental health journey.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans for clients, adapting strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on their specific needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based practices to foster meaningful conversation and healing.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making necessary adjustments to plans in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
\n
• Proactively collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other mental health specialists to ensure integrated and comprehensive care for clients.

• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding mental health challenges and engage them in the recovery process.
\n
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing therapeutic techniques to encourage positive change.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong foundation in clinical practices and comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders.
\n
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to connect effectively with clients and colleagues.
\n
• Demonstrated empathetic nature and outstanding interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong emphasis on telehealth delivery.
\n
• Proficiency in managing electronic health record systems, with familiarity in platforms such as AVATAR being a plus.
\n
• Awareness of best practices from organizations such as the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Experience addressing a range of physical and emotional health conditions, including substance use disorders.
\n
• In-depth understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects, as well as psychosocial interventions.
