We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to support payroll operations within a fast-paced, field-based organization. This position is responsible for managing and analyzing payroll, timekeeping, and job-costing data flowing between HeavyJob and ADP, helping ensure employee information is accurate, complete, and processed timely.

The Payroll Analyst will work closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and field leadership to research discrepancies, reconcile payroll data, resolve timekeeping issues, and support the overall payroll function.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, strong analytical and Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple systems and teams.

Essential Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze payroll and timekeeping data flowing between HeavyJob and ADP.
- Review employee time, hours, pay information, job assignments, and cost codes for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile payroll, timekeeping, and job-costing information and research discrepancies through resolution.
- Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent payroll data and coordinate corrections with appropriate teams.
- Support regular payroll processing, including payroll audits, adjustments, corrections, and exception management.
- Review payroll reports and identify unusual transactions or variances before payroll is finalized.
- Assist with ensuring labor hours and payroll costs are accurately assigned to appropriate jobs and cost codes.
- Prepare and maintain payroll reports, reconciliation files, and supporting documentation.
- Respond to employee and manager payroll questions professionally and timely.
- Support payroll audits, reporting requests, system testing, and process improvements as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriate controls when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Perform additional day-to-day payroll responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in payroll processing, payroll analysis, timekeeping, accounting, job costing, or a related function.
- Experience with ADP preferred.
- Experience with HeavyJob, HCSS, or similar construction/field timekeeping and job-costing systems highly desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, filtering, and data reconciliation.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy.
- Ability to research discrepancies and follow issues through resolution.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Payroll, HR, Finance, Operations, field leadership, and employees.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee and payroll information.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline preferred.
- Previous payroll experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, or another field-based environment is preferred.
