Job Description As a Security Officer Licensed Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Newark, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness with strong customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $21.26 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Mon 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM Thur 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM Fri 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM Sat 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM Sun 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and/or drivers by following security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout loading areas, warehouse spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions. Monitor access points, verify approved entry and/or exit activity, and document deliveries, pickups, and other security-related events according to site guidelines. Support loss prevention and operational continuity by reporting damaged gates, open doors, lighting issues, and other concerns that could affect the location. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 21 years of age. The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred. X‑ray screening experience is preferred. Access control and/or badge experience is preferred. A guard card and/or license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
