Position Overview

Great Lake Behavioral Center is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in Houston, Texas. This full-time role involves providing exceptional mental health support to young adults, specifically within our outpatient treatment facility. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include a variety of essential tasks aimed at providing the highest standard of care to our clients:

• Group Therapy: Facilitate engaging group sessions that promote connection among clients, encouraging them to share experiences and support one another in their journeys to recovery.
• Individual Therapy: Offer personalized counseling sessions aimed at exploring clients’ thoughts and feelings, helping them develop coping strategies tailored to their unique challenges.
• Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to design individualized and goal-oriented treatment plans, ensuring alignment with their specific needs and preferences.
• Progress Monitoring: Track and evaluate client progress using various assessment tools and through regular feedback to adapt treatment plans as required.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to coordinate care, consult on complex cases, and ensure optimum client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on serving a distinct patient population of young adults aged 18 to 30 who are navigating various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. You will become a critical support system for these individuals, guiding them through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) where they will engage in numerous therapeutic activities designed for holistic recovery and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in a relevant field, such as counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
• A current and valid License as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for clients and their families.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and holistic practices.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with young adults in an outpatient or community mental health setting.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate both group and individual therapy sessions effectively.
• Experience with assessment tools and treatment planning aligned with best practices.
• Media or creative approaches to therapy are a plus, showcasing adaptability in therapeutic methodologies.
