Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive mental health services to a caseload of clients, focusing on building rapport and trust while maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.
• Conduct regular sessions to assess client progress, review treatment goals, and prepare for potential discharge when appropriate.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that align with the needs and preferences of each client.
• Perform intake assessments to thoroughly evaluate new clients and establish initial treatment protocols.
• Document session notes and update client records in a timely manner to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Engage in regular supervision sessions to enhance professional development and clinical skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and medical staff, to ensure holistic care for clients.
• Maintain a growth mindset and actively participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on youth, providing mental health counseling to adolescents and young adults. You will work with clients dealing with various challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and behavioral issues. Your work will directly influence their emotional well-being and future, making your role crucial to their development and healing process.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in mental health counseling or a related field is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.
• Ability to fulfill internal credentialing requirements for relevant clinical settings.
• A minimum of one year of experience working within psychiatric settings and with substance abuse populations is essential.
• Proven experience in assessment, diagnosis, and both individual and group therapy modalities.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including basic keyboarding, is necessary for managing client records and documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a telehealth setting as well as traditional in-person counseling.
• Familiarity with specific therapeutic techniques and interventions targeted at youth, such as CBT or DBT.
• Experience collaborating with schools and families to support client success.

Compensation and Benefits
