Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients, which includes reviewing their medical history and performing specialized assessments related to their physical condition.
• Creating and discussing individualized treatment plans with patients and their families, ensuring that they understand the objectives of their rehabilitation journey.
• Employing a variety of treatment modalities, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and patient education, based on the evaluation results and patient needs.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress meticulously, ensuring all clinical data is recorded accurately for effective treatment adjustments.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to optimize patient care, addressing any changes in patients' conditions, and modifying care plans as necessary.
• Participating in discharge planning, providing resources for ongoing care, and facilitating a seamless transition out of therapy.
• Maintaining an organized schedule and ensuring timely attendance to patient appointments and meetings.
• Engaging in community outreach and marketing efforts to promote our clinic's services and increase access to care.
• Contributing to departmental goals and actively participating in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Seeking additional continuing education and serving as a mentor to students or new hires, fostering professional growth within the team.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience
