Senior Fund Accountant

LHH is supporting the private markets platform of a globally recognized investment management firm, offering the scale, resources, and infrastructure of a large asset manager alongside the growth trajectory and entrepreneurial environment of a dedicated alternatives business. With approximately $6 billion in assets under management, the platform continues to expand its investment capabilities and fund offerings. This is an opportunity for an accounting professional to gain meaningful exposure to complex investment structures, fund operations, investor reporting, and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Oversee the accounting and financial reporting process for a portfolio of private investment funds and affiliated entities. Review partnership allocations, investor capital activity, management fees, carried interest calculations, and other fund‑level transactions. Analyze investment activity, including acquisitions, exits, valuation adjustments, and portfolio company events. Partner with third‑party administrators to ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables. Prepare management reporting, performance analyses, liquidity reporting, and other materials supporting senior leadership and investment teams. Coordinate annual financial statement audits, including preparation of supporting schedules, workpapers, and responses to auditor requests. Liaise with external tax advisors to support partnership tax compliance, investor reporting, and year‑end filings. Interpret limited partnership agreements and related documentation to ensure accounting treatments and investor allocations are properly executed. Support investor servicing efforts by responding to financial reporting inquiries and ad hoc information requests. Contribute to fund launches, structural enhancements, and other business initiatives as the alternatives platform continues to grow. Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows through automation, process redesign, and technology‑driven solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or pursuit of certification is highly preferred. 3+ years of professional experience within private equity, venture capital, or broader alternative investment management, including public accounting audit experience serving similar clients. Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting schedules under U.S. GAAP. Understanding of private fund structures, partnership accounting, capital account maintenance, and investor allocation methodologies. Advanced Excel proficiency and experience working with large data sets and financial reporting systems. Track record of managing multiple deliverables in a deadline‑driven environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across finance, operations, investor relations, and external service providers. Demonstrated interest in process improvement, systems optimization, and leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency.
