As a Security Officer Residential Shelter in South Ozone Park, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelters . As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity. Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor access in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Support a respectful, trauma-informed environment by communicating professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and escalating concerns according to established protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
