The BEST BREAKFAST/BRUNCH restaurant in Maryland is seeking an experienced Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our team who has great leadership skills and has a real passion for the restaurant industry.

Job Requirements including but not limited to:

• Involved in the interviewing and selection of kitchen staff
• Trains and manages all kitchen team members to include, but limited to various assignments and handle the equipment
• Planning menus, menu testing and training for staff
• Managing stock and helping to ensure that stations stay stocked during service and still good (not spoiled or expired)
• Ordering food and supplies from vendors
• Managing schedules, vacations, requests for time off and station rotations of the kitchen staff and communicates timely with GM
• Ensuring BOH operations are in tandem with FOH operations and needs as coordinated with and through direction from the GM
• Can successfully perform all Kitchen related tasks as needed up to and including, cooking on the line, prepping food, cleaning equipment.
• Discuss tasks, goals and objectives of the kitchen to the staff on a daily basis.
• Ensure that the staffs food preparation is done in a proper, sanitary way and make sure they follow instructions that comply with those of the restaurant
• Ensure the food served is high quality, as well as implementing sanitary procedures in the kitchen, the eating area and all the surrounding areas
• Ensures restaurant meets security and safety standards
• Handles complaints of team members and disciplinary action in conjunction with input and review from the GM
• Evaluates team member performance to include pay raises and promotions in conjunction with input and review from the GM
• Involved in termination process of kitchen staff
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor of Arts degree in Culinary/Hospitality Management (preferred)
• A minimum of 5 years Restaurant/Hospitality Management (full-service restaurant Management preferred)
• Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel) (intermediate required)
• Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of POS Systems (Toast preferred) (intermediate required)
• Advanced in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reporting mechanisms as assigned.
