Human Resources Manager

Soni Resources is partnering with an exponentially growing client near Edison, NJ, on the search for a HR Manager . The Human Resources Manager oversees and directs the daily operations of HR function, ensuring consistent, compliant, and people-focused support across all facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining adherence to all applicable labor laws and regulations, guiding site-level HR Business Partners, and aligning HR practices with broader organizational goals and initiatives. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Employee Relations : Serve as the primary resource for employee concerns, grievances, and workplace disputes. Conduct investigations, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance to employees and managers to ensure fair, consistent resolution. Ensure full compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and notify the Business Agent of any issues involving Union members. Talent Management & Onboarding : Partner with the Talent Acquisition & Employee Development Manager to support high volume hiring needs and deliver a professional, structured orientation and onboarding experience for all new employees. Performance Management : Lead the performance review process, train managers on effective feedback practices, and assist in developing performance improvement plans when needed. Policy & Compliance : Maintain and update company policies and procedures within the employee handbook. Ensure organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and ADA. HRIS Administration : Oversee the company’s HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring accurate, confidential, and up to date employee records. Payroll Support : Maintain working knowledge of the payroll system and provide weekly payroll processing support when the primary payroll administrator is unavailable. Benefits Administration : Act as the main point of contact for employee benefit inquiries. Lead benefits orientation for new hires and coordinate annual open enrollment through ADP. Offboarding : Manage the employee separation process, including exit interviews, documentation, and required administrative steps. Safety & Risk Management : Oversee workers’ compensation claims and collaborate with the Safety Department to support OSHA compliance and reduce workplace incident rates. Leadership & Management : Demonstrated ability to lead teams, guide managers, and drive organizational change. Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization. Problem Solving : Skilled in analyzing complex issues and navigating sensitive situations with sound judgment. Employment Law Expertise : Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and HR best practices. Discretion & Confidentiality : Proven ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and integrity. Attention to Detail : Highly organized with strong administrative and documentation skills. Adaptability : Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment and adjust quickly as priorities evolve.
