Staff Accountant | Kentwood, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Kentwood region seeking Staff Accountants. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing accruals and journal entries.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, material, and overhead variances.
• Support external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably in manufacturing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with inventory costing and analysis
