About the Position

We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in a Level III Trauma Center in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Compensation: $350 Per Hour

Position Details

• Trauma Level: III

• ED Volume: Approximately 55,000 visits annually

• Hospital Beds: 32

• EMR: Meditech

• Shifts: 12-hour, 11-hour, and 8-hour shifts available

• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; additional shifts may include 1:00 PM–9:00 PM and 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

• Weekend Coverage: Required

• Call: None

• APP Support: Yes

• Approximately 30% of ED patients are admitted

• Hospitalist/admitting service handles admissions

• ED physicians are not responsible for codes

• Deliveries are sent directly to Labor & Delivery

• ED physicians supervise/monitor paramedic and ambulance activity by radio

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department

• Manage a broad range of acute and emergent conditions

• Perform appropriate emergency medicine procedures

• Coordinate care with hospitalists, consultants, and other clinical staff

• Stabilize and transfer patients when clinically indicated

• Provide radio medical direction to paramedics/ambulance personnel

• Complete timely and accurate medical documentation

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts medical license required; MA-licensed providers will receive priority

• ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency

• BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required
