Role Description

Our Product, Design, and Product Marketing functions need a single operator running them as one tight, customer-obsessed, goal-focused team. Our CTO already sets the long-term vision and steers product strategy. What we’re missing is the leader who turns that strategy into shipped product — every quarter, predictably — and brings the team along.

The right person is energized by the craft of building the product operations function:

What you’ll get up to:

• Lead Product, Design, and Product Marketing as one team with eight direct reports: three PMs, two designers, and three product marketers.
• Build the operating system, establishing the planning cadence (annual → quarterly → sprint), discovery rituals, launch process, and the metrics that matter.
• Shape Hive’s AI product surface, owning how AI shows up across the product.
• Tighten the productivity loop by shortening the path from idea to shipped to learned.
• Have sharp takes on org design, partnering closely with the CTO and VP of Engineering.
• Stay closer to customers than anyone, ensuring every PM, designer, and PMM does the same.
• Hire & coach builders, not project managers, modeling desired behaviors.
• Run Product Marketing as a peer function, integrating PMM into the product process from day one.
• Partner with the CTO, engineering leadership, and the founders to turn long-term direction into shipped product.

Qualifications

• A builder who manages builders, with experience writing PRDs and shipping products.
• AI-fluent and using it daily, with a point of view on AI's role in the product and workflow.
• Operationally strong, capable of designing processes from scratch.
• Close to the customer, with a passion for user engagement.
• A multiplier for design and PMM, working collaboratively with peers.
• Passionate about the craft of PM, staying current on best practices.
• Principled before busy, ensuring clarity of purpose before starting work.
• Comfortable in a no-BS, mid-stage SaaS environment.

Requirements

• Experience building or scaling a product operations function from scratch.
• Experience managing PMMs and shipping launches that moved the revenue line.
• Experience in event-tech, live entertainment, ticketing, marketing automation, or vertical SaaS for SMB/mid-market.
• Experience reporting to a strong CTO or founder.
