Software Development Engineer, EC2 Infrastructure

Salary: $143,400 - 143,400 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• We need at least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new or existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• We need experience programming in at least one software language.
• We prefer 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• We prefer a bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent background.

• We design and build highly available regional and zonal services that run at massive scale, supporting millions of hosts and billions of API calls.
• We own features end to end, from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• We develop modern Kotlin, Java, Python, and TypeScript services across on-host agents, APIs, and web interfaces, with a focus on availability and security.
• We participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence.
• We collaborate with a team of passionate engineers to deliver the next generation of infrastructure data and provisioning services.

We are Infrastructure Foundational Services (IFS), a software organization within AWS under the EC2 Infrastructure Services organization. We build and maintain services that provision physical hardware, orchestrate host and rack management, track rack health, enable automated RamDisk management, and provide data for physical and Hailstone hosts, rack devices, rack locations, and device status across AWS data centers, local zones, transit centers, corporate locations, and fulfillment centers.
