Overview Financial Regulatory Counsel Location: New York Business Area: Legal, Compliance, and Risk Ref #: 10049662 Description & Requirements Bloomberg’s Global Financial Regulatory team provides coverage and legal support for Bloomberg's regulated entities and products as well as guidance for Bloomberg's unregulated products and services. We are influential in the development of new products, services and regularly provide legal advice regarding the design and implementation of new products and services. The Global Financial Regulatory team is part of Bloomberg’s Legal Department, which supports businesses and operations around the world. Role Based in New York, this is a great opportunity to join the Financial Regulatory legal team who are responsible for the global support of electronic trading venues and systems for securities and derivatives across all asset classes, benchmarks administration, data reporting services, pre-trade analytics, post-trade services, research, information security and enterprise risk. In our team, you will have the opportunity to support products across the business including electronic trading systems. On any given day you could be asked to analyze, help implement, or advocate for change to U.S., UK, EU and international securities and derivatives laws and financial regulation affecting Bloomberg's businesses, or draft and negotiate agreements with key customers. You will liaise regularly with senior business people, other legal counsel, our Risk, Negotiations and Compliance teams, and other key support functions. Responsibilities Provide advice and help ensure regulated businesses comply with their regulatory and commercial obligations Provide legal support and advice to a variety of internal stakeholders including business, operations, compliance, risk and sales and marketing Help draft and negotiate agreements and regulatory responses Bring a willingness to develop your knowledge of securities and derivatives regulation globally, and related practice areas, to complement a high-performing legal team with a broad portfolio of regulatory issues facing electronic trading and technology and information services providers Thrive in collaborating with colleagues to deliver first-class advice and execution to Bloomberg Requirements A minimum of 5 years at a top tier international law firm and/or in-house legal department of a multinational company, focused on financial regulatory matters Knowledge of regulatory issues relevant to SEC-registered broker-dealers and regulated trading infrastructure (e.g. regulated trading venues like alternative trading systems and swap execution facilities) Expertise in securities/derivatives regulations Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills and the ability to thrive in an open office environment Demonstrated ability to thrive in a diverse and fast-paced team environment We\'d love to see: Experience with public and private securities offerings and/or regulated businesses in the financial services sector A secondment supporting an in-house financial regulation team Apply & What to Expect If this sounds like you: Apply if you think we\'re a good match. Salary Range = 200000 - 255000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus The referenced salary range is based on the Company\'s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
