Welcome to the Kuteyi Law Group, PLLC (KLG). We are a growing Texas law firm dedicated to helping families navigate difficult legal matters with compassion, professionalism, and excellence. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, bilingual (English/Spanish) paralegal to join our team.

We are looking for an experienced,  bilingual paralegal to focus on Family Law and Immigration with a minimum experience of 1 year, preferably 2. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney in a collaborative firm culture handling areas in Family and Immigration Law.

This position involves providing a full range of support including but not limited to coordinating/monitoring the docket of cases assigned, preparation/revision of correspondence, pleadings, and documents; filing forms/motions with the court; filing and file maintenance; and much more. We are in search of a candidate with high level writing skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
• Manage divorce cases, SAPCRs, modifications, immigration applications, petitions and supporting evidence.
• Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and statements; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
• Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
• Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
• Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Communicates with government agencies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
• Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Associate or Bachelors Degree required.
• Paralegal Studies or related field preferred; Paralegal certificate preferred.
• Related experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (depending on experience)
