Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Surgical Services position requiring 5 years of experience and 4x10 shifts with weekend rotation and on-call.

Job Details

• Community hospital setting within a Surgical Services / OR department,
• 1:1 patient ratio experience,
• Day shift (4x10, 0700-1730) or Evening shift (4x10, 1300-2330), including weekend rotation,
• On-call requirements as part of the schedule,
• Preferred experience in vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, and cardiac surgeries,
• Preferred experience in Trauma Level I and Trauma Level II settings,

Job Requirements

• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required,
• BLS certification (AHA),
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required,
• 5 years of experience preferred, 2 years minimum required,
• CA state license required if applicable,
• Community hospital experience preferred,
• Experience with aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol (time out) procedures,
• Familiarity with endoscopic and robotic surgical equipment preferred,

Additional Information

• Assist in preparing for and during surgery by performing routine and delegated duties according to department and hospital standards to ensure quality patient care,
• Support procedures across specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, oral, neuro, orthopedic, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, ENT, bariatrics, transplant, thoracic, and podiatry,
• Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control, sharps safety, and radiation safety protocols,
• Perform equipment documentation, instrument processing, and specimen handling/labeling,
• Participate in wound care/dressing changes and suture removal as needed,
• Complete required onboarding labs within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request approved per contract,
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler,
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius,
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
