Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, BSN, and Trauma Level II experience.

Job Details

• ICU float pool position covering TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU across UCSF facilities,
• 12-hour Day/Night rotating shifts (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30),
• Schedule cycles run 4 weeks and may switch between day and night shifts based on need,
• 1:2 patient ratio,
• Epic charting system preferred,
• Required to float to other UCSF facilities and departments as needed,
• May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission,
• BSN required,
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• NIHSS certification preferred,
• Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience within the last 6 months to 1 year,
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history,
• Trauma Level II experience required,
• Completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required,
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and TPN/Lipids administration,
• Experience with care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ABG interpretation, respiratory failure and pulmonary embolism management,
• Experience with CVP monitoring, IABP, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmia management,
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and paralytics/neuromuscular blockade,
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and EVD care,
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, and Transplant ICU,
• Care for complex patients requiring advanced monitoring, respiratory support, and multi-system management,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates,
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check,
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment,
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
