This contract opportunity is based within a dynamic school environment, working primarily with general education students to provide vital counseling, professional learning, and positive behavioral interventions.

You will engage both individuals and groups, helping students navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and thrive in their academic journey. Your expertise will also support staff through collaboration and the implementation of school-based wellness initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required—no exceptions (bachelor’s degrees do not qualify for this role)
• Active LARA license appropriate for the position (Social Worker, Psychologist, Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist in Michigan)
• Proficiency with SOAP notes, electronic documentation, and Google applications
• Familiarity and compliance with Michigan educational and licensure standards; willingness to fulfill additional counselor credential requirements if applicable
• Experience working with adolescents in school settings is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to provide counseling to groups and individuals in an educational setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver social-emotional counseling to general education students, both individually and in groups
• Support classrooms and buildings through professional learning opportunities and behavior program implementation
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation to track student progress
• Collaborate with educational staff and participate in wellness teams as needed
• Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards
