Semeraro & Fahrney, LLC is a boutique law firm concentrating in all aspects of Land Use Law, Redevelopment, and Affordable Housing Law and Civil Litigation. Our main office is located in Wayne, New Jersey with an additional office located in Parsippany, New Jersey.

The ideal candidate we seek for this Associate position is 1-5 years of Land Use and/or Complex Litigation experience with experience in Employment and Municipal Law a bonus. We seek a candidate licensed in New Jersey (required) and New York (preferred) who is confident, zealous, and can personally manage their case load and calendar in a highly professional manner.

On the litigation side, the successful candidate will assist with and independently manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery; conducting legal research; managing all phases of written discovery; taking and defending depositions; preparing witnesses and clients; attending court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations; negotiating settlements; and preparing matters for trial. The candidate will work closely with partners while also assuming primary responsibility for assigned cases, ensuring deadlines are met and clients receive exceptional legal representation.

On the Land Use side, you will assist in preparing applications for Variances, Zoning Permits, attend hearings and assist the Partners in representing developers in front of Municipal Land Use Boards across the region. Experience in this aspect of the law is crucial.

Municipal/Governmental Representation experience is a plus. Will also consider more experienced candidates with a book of business

Candidates are expected to meet monthly billing requirements and has the ability to earn bonuses based on exceptional work for the Firm.

This position is full-time starting as soon as possible, and salary is commensurate with experience.
