Key Responsibilities

The Orthopedic Rehabilitation Physical Therapist will be responsible for:

• Developing and directing individualized therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function in patients.
• Evaluating patients' function through diagnostic tests related to muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
• Implementing therapeutic techniques, including manual exercises, traction, and application of physical agents, tailored to each patient's rehabilitation needs.
• Monitoring patient progress and modifying treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members based on observed changes in condition.
• Providing education to patients and their families regarding therapy programs, equipment usage, and exercises to enhance recovery.
• Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective implementation of therapy programs.
• Conducting home evaluations and recommending modifications to improve safety and independence.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and conditions affecting mobility and function. As an Orthopedic Rehabilitation Physical Therapist, you will work closely with patients dealing with joint replacements, fractures, and chronic pain conditions, providing tailored therapy to support their journey towards independence and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current and valid physical therapy license in New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification, with knowledge of emergency protocols.
• Proven ability to make sound clinical decisions and demonstrate leadership among the rehabilitation team.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and team members.
• A strong passion for clinical excellence and commitment to upholding the integrity of care.

Preferred Experience

While one year of experience as a physical therapist is required, candidates with experience in acute care or home care settings will have a competitive advantage. Additionally, a familiarity with OASIS documentation and state-specific regulations is preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing diverse patient populations and conditions is also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
