Work Environment

This position is situated within a hospital setting, offering you the opportunity to work alongside talented healthcare professionals in a state-of-the-art facility. As part of a collaborative team, you'll participate in regular interdisciplinary meetings and training sessions to improve patient outcomes and share the latest in therapeutic practices. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility to accommodate patient needs and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer physical therapy treatments under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring compliance with established care plans.
• Implement individualized exercise programs to alleviate pain, restore function, and enhance overall patient performance.
• Assist patients through active and passive therapeutic exercises, providing guidance in muscle reeducation, gait training, and functional activities.
• Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation effectively during treatment sessions.
• Monitor and document patient responses to therapies, communicating any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate and instruct patients on the correct use of mobility aids and therapeutic equipment including wheelchairs, braces, and prosthetics.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes to be integrated into patient files, ensuring compliance with organizational protocols.
• Engage in facility-wide quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to sharpen skills and stay current with industry standards.
• Perform additional duties as required, contributing to the team's overall success.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Ensign Physical Therapy, you will work primarily with patients recovering from surgeries, those with chronic pain conditions, and individuals requiring rehabilitation following severe injuries. These patients span various demographics, ensuring you encounter unique challenges and treatment scenarios that will broaden your clinical experience and expertise.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with a Bachelor's degree in Science or Applied Science recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Possess a current state certification or licensure as required by California regulations.
• Maintain active certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Valid driver's license with insurance coverage meeting state and organizational requirements.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.
• Experience in working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation practices.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
