Work Environment

This full-time position is based onsite at our hospital-affiliated outpatient orthopedic facility in the vibrant community of Sherman Oaks, California. Our modern workspace is designed to foster teamwork and enhance patient experience, featuring private treatment rooms and open areas for group therapy sessions. The schedule runs Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing our staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance while being fully engaged in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, targeting various musculoskeletal conditions.
• Provide guidance and support to patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities, ensuring they perform movements correctly and safely.
• Administer therapeutic modalities, including ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold applications to enhance recovery.
• Document patient progress meticulously, maintaining comprehensive records of treatment outcomes and any changes in condition, and provide reports to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercises, self-care strategies, and prevention techniques to promote ongoing health and wellness.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality and security of all patient information.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, including Physical Therapists, occupational therapists, and other support staff, to create a cohesive care environment ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will predominantly work with a diverse patient population experiencing orthopedic issues, including post-operative recovery from joint replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our approach emphasizes individualized care, allowing you to tailor treatment interventions that empower patients to achieve their functional goals and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited PTA program is required.
• A commitment to delivering patient-centered care with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience working as a PTA in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred, however, new graduates who have completed clinical rotations in similar environments are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
