Accountant

Accountant (Fixed Assets, Intercompany Billing & Payroll Accounting) Role Overview Seeking a detail-oriented, highly confidential Accountant to manage fixed assets, payroll-related accounting, and intercompany personnel cost allocations within a multi-entity organization. This role requires extensive accounting knowledge, strict data privacy compliance, and collaboration with HR, Payroll, Finance, and offshore Global Business Service (GBS) teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Fixed Asset Management:
  
  
  • Oversee the full fixed asset lifecycle (capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals) and maintain asset registers compliant with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, review leased asset activity, and support audits.
  • Partner with offshore GBS resources to validate documentation, monitor service delivery timelines, and maintain internal controls.
• Intercompany Billing & Allocations:
  
  
  • Monitor, allocate, and bill personnel costs across company entities.
  • Prepare intercompany billing statements and collaborate with stakeholders (HR/Payroll) to validate labor cost drivers.
  • Support month-end/year-end close and analyze personnel cost trends and asset utilization.
• Payroll Accounting:
  
  
  • Record and reconcile payroll transactions (wages, bonuses, taxes, accruals) across legal entities, departments, and cost centers.
  • Investigate discrepancies and timing differences in partnership with Payroll and HR.
• Compliance & Data Confidentiality:
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee compensation data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties, approval workflows, and audit requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 3+ years of progressive experience in fixed assets, intercompany, or payroll accounting.
• ERP Proficiency: Experience with JD Edwards (or similar ERP systems).
• Advanced Excel Mastery: Expertise in complex modeling, Power Query, pivot tables/charts, and functions (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS) for large-volume data analysis.
• Core Competencies: Solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS, accrual accounting, internal controls, multi-entity environments, and high-discretion data handling.

Responsibilities

Fixed asset accounting management: The role involves overseeing the full fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals, while maintaining accurate fixed asset registers in compliance with applicable accounting standards such as GAAP/IFRS.

Intercompany billing and personnel cost allocation: The Accountant monitors, allocates, and bills personnel costs between company entities, prepares intercompany billing statements, and collaborates with HR, Payroll, Finance, and other stakeholders to validate employee cost allocations, labor cost drivers, and entity-level charges.

Payroll-related accounting transactions: The role includes recording, reviewing, and reconciling payroll-related accounting entries, including wages, salaries, bonuses, benefits, payroll taxes, accruals, reversals, reallocations, and intercompany payroll charges.
