Quality Control Inspector

General Responsibilities Responsible for developing and enforcing corporate Quality Control program and corporate quality control manual. Develop standards, metrics to measure performance, deviation identification and documentation, improvement plans and processes, etc. Development of quality forms archive, work instructions, first articles, weld instruction and training, lean manufacturing, paint measuring and processes, etc. This position falls under the company’s safety-sensitive category. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy and are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing Essential Duties Performs a variety of duties in support of Quality Control: Creates a QC manual that defines quality standards across all phases, including supplier, design, engineering, production (paint/manufacture), and final assembly/testing. Instructs and educates employees on the quality control manual and standards developed within. Designs work procedures to adhere to our QC standards and in support of the Company being efficient at achieving their goals. Monitors and audits manufacturing process daily performing spot checks, full tests, and documenting results. Also documents outside warranty claims, supplier defects requiring corrective action, recommending repair procedures and manufacturing changes to achieve QC levels, etc. Performs annual AAR audit to include partial and full audits requiring different levels of documentation and supporting metrics for QC, management review, internal policies and controls. Works with other departments in sustaining and growing QC with better controls, communication, and culture for the Company and employees. Participates with other departments in establishing specific goals for QC and overall setting the metrics in place to measure them. Coordinates schedule of AAR audits and all related meetings and forms requiring signature. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel. Communicates with other departments and appropriate staff personnel to integrate activities. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy. Ancillary Duties Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
