Attendance Secretary
Addison Trail High School is seeking an Attendance Secretary to join their team. This position reports to the Director of Deans and is available starting August 03, 2026, for a 10-month duration at Level II, Step 1 salary.
The job of Attendance Secretary is done for the purpose of ensuring accurate attendance accounting within the District; resolving attendance related issues; ensuring compliance with state reporting and documenting requirements; conveying attendance related information to appropriate parties; and providing general clerical support, information and/or direction as may be assigned at assigned school site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Obtains attendance records for student entry and exit from campus during school hours for the purpose of ensuring accurate reporting of excused absences.
- Performs general clerical functions for the purpose of supporting office operations.
- Prepares attendance-related reports and written materials for the purpose of conveying information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures.
- Processes documents and materials into Power School for the purpose of disseminating information in compliance with established administrative guidelines.
- Responds questions from a variety of individuals for the purpose of providing information and/or directions as may be required.
- Retrieves calls from answering machines for the purpose of recording them and ensuring absences are reported accurately.
Other Functions include:
- Attends department and/or in-service meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Job related experience is required.
