Short Description Collaborates with the Hospital Pharmacy Department to develop, improve and maintain IT programs that affects Pharmacy. Assists in achieving the goals of the Department of Hospital Pharmacy and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.Evaluates and tests system code changes relative to the changes in the state of pharmacy practice. Recommends upgrades and suggested changes in computer equipment and software for the Pharmacy Department.Responds to pharmacy departmental requests for statistical reports and software evaluation.Coordinates all aspects of Application/upgrade planning, design, development, testing, communication and maintenance of existing or new functionality of the Pharmacy systemAssures system integrity of the Pharmacy Application.Maintains issue management (logging of points).Maintains change control documents for Pharmacy Application.Applies and makes recommendations for script testing of Pharmacy Application.Maintains the formularySupports Medication dispensing machines issuesParticipates in committees as assigned by the DepartmentDirectly responsible for training of all pharmacists on the pharmacy information system.Works collaboratively with IT infrastructure, Networking, Server and Data exchange teams to coordinate technical activities related to the Pharmacy applicationDevelop and maintain support documentation, service desk routing, and knowledge base entries in appropriate formDemonstrates the ability to do workflow analysis and use appropriate tools to document workflow and processesDevelop and enhance effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.Demonstrate analytical skills and understanding of client business processes and functional requirements.Work with key internal and external staff to recommend efficient, cost effective solutions that support client business processes and functional requirements.Demonstrate ability to Represent IT in Pharmacy technology related meetings. Ability to work with cross-functional teams.Demonstrate advanced skills to identify problem processes, applications and troubleshoot.Create and maintain test scripts in support of new installations, projects, and/or systemupdatesAssist with the administrative, technical, and customer-facing duties surrounding thesuccessful project implementation of system updates and changesUnderstand pharmacy end-user workflowServe as a liaison between end users, subject matter experts and technical supportDemonstrate self-motivation and works independently to maintain application stability and enhance clients experiencePerform on-call duties as assignedPerform other duties as assigned Demonstrates strong leadership and organizational core values Experience Required Healthcare IT experience required or minimum 5 years hospital-based IT experience. Education Requirements Clinical/Medical/Pharm certification or degree preferred.Bachelor's of Science in PharmD degree preferred. License/Certification Requirements Epic Certification in Willow or in-process of Obtaining Epic certification is preferred. Salary Min ($)
