Bring your expertise in special education to a fulfilling contract role supporting students at an onsite school near Bensenville, IL for the full 2026-2027 academic year. In this position, you'll work with a dedicated group of 7-9 students in a self-contained classroom focused on academic life skills, creating meaningful impact through individualized instruction and guidance.

Your role will consist of providing high-quality education and support to students, collaborating with colleagues and families to develop and implement IEPs, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. This full-time opportunity offers consistent hours—37.5 hours per week—allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your students’ progress and achievements from August to June.

What we’re seeking:

• Active LBS1 Endorsement and Professional Educator License (PEL).
• Strong experience working with students in self-contained Special Education settings.
• Knowledge of academic life skills curricula and best practices for individualized instruction.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
• Passion for helping students achieve their fullest potential in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and implementing engaging lessons tailored to the academic and social-emotional needs of each student.
• Managing a classroom of 7-9 students, promoting both independence and group cooperation.
• Monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate academic and behavioral records.
• Collaborating with staff, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support.
• Adhering to state and district policies, including timely completion of IEPs and reports.
