Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist
- Drive AP accuracy and timeliness by overseeing all invoices, check requests, and credit card receipts through a centralized Outlook AP inbox
- Review, process, and allocate invoices against multiple contracts, ensuring strict compliance with required signatures and documentation
- Set up new vendors, ensure collection of all necessary paperwork, and manage documentation integrity for ongoing and year-end reporting
- Maintain clear, responsive communication with internal teams to resolve inquiries and prioritize AP deadlines
- Lead ongoing improvements in AP processes and support upcoming automation/technology transitions
Qualifications
- 5+ years full-cycle accounts payable experience, ideally in dynamic nonprofit or contract-driven settings
- Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, SUMIF formulas, file uploads)
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex cost allocations and high-detail documentation
