Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits)

Job Title
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
- Act in an advisory role to managers, supervisors, and employees in customer organizations regarding employee benefits and related issues.
- Provide management with guidance on various federal programs, including the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and alternative pension plans.
- Offer counsel on program-related issues such as eligibility, coverage, associated procedures, and forms. This includes providing one-on-one counseling to employees, top-level management officials, and political appointees.
- Provide advisory services for open season benefits, encompassing Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB), Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), and the Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFED).
- Develop employee benefits-related procedures and policies for Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) and ensure their timely implementation.
