Primary Role The Healthcare Coordinator (HC) partners with supported Dentists to secure financial commitments from patients and ensure timely treatment initiation. Key responsibilities include understanding and presenting financial options, educating patients on treatment choices, overcoming objections, and maximizing dentist scheduling. The HC supports each patient in a consultative manner while promoting a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and Creating Patients for Life (PFL). Responsibilities Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework Gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the dentistry that the Dentist is diagnosing for their patient Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools, skills, and talents to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique wants and needs Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician on every exam patient Serve as subject matter expert on all available financial options, providing choices that fit a patient’s budget Professionally overcome common patient objections to starting treatment Obtain necessary insurance pre‑authorizations for patients who need this prior to completing treatment Ensure the office exemplifies the Comprehensive Care Model within the offices as well as referrals outside the office Participate actively in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings and any other meetings as required Demonstrate a thorough understanding of business imperatives and how the role directly impacts metrics and results Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand making decisions consistent with the PDS Brand framework Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally and respectfully always Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Travel might be required between offices Preferred Prior coursework or on‑the‑job training in the fields of dentistry, insurance, or business Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of office practices, technology applications and patient insurances Results oriented – energetic self‑starter, sets realistic goals, meets commitments, persistent, prioritizes daily to achieve results Patient advocate – flexible and adaptive, empathetic, passionate, ethical Process focused operator – data driven decision‑maker, detailed, organized and structured, comprehensive knowledge of all operational processes, computer proficient Financial acumen – understands profit drivers; utilizes metrics to manage; builds the financial understanding of team members, staff and clinicians; understands local market drivers and competition Influencer – active listener/observer of behavior; creates a win/win need for change Self‑motivated, reliable individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team Ability to multi‑task effectively without compromising the quality of the work Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality of patient records Organized, detail‑oriented individual able to work in a fast‑paced environment Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Tuition Reimbursement 401K Paid time to volunteer in your local community Compensation: $18.00–$25.50 per hour PDS Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
